Pecan Pie Bars

I made these yummy little suckers tonight and they were delish. Unfortunately, I was making these for my sister in law's friend, who lost her sister to pneumonia at the age of 42. My heart goes out to her. My sisters and I are pretty close and I couldn't imagine losing either of them. Such a terrible tragedy.
I had heard about pecan pie bars, but never got around to making them. I actually found quite a few different variations for this recipe and decided on this one. I am so glad I did! The bottom crust is like a shortbread cookie layered with pecan pie filling on top. It was actually a nice combination of flavors, rather than the traditional pie crust. I think I will add these to my must make holiday cookie list this year. This is a definite keeper and it was so easy to make. Not to mention, I love pecan pie!
