Barbecued Sausage Pieces (Crock Pot)

I got this recipe from Jenna has a lot of yummy recipes on her blog so definitely check her out. The best part about this recipe is that it uses the crock pot and it only takes two hours on low to heat up! I used Healthy Ones smoked sausages which helped to reduce the fat and calories by a lot instead of regular smoked sausages. I will admit this recipe is extra sweet with the honey and brown sugar so there is definitely a lot of flavor if you like your meats sweet. These would make great appetizers served with toothpicks at your next potluck or it could be a fast family friendly meal. It is best served over rice or pasta. I served mine over brown rice. I think this recipe would also work well with chicken breasts that is shredded to make shredded barbecue sandwiches. I may have to try that next time.

Barbecued Sausage Pieces (Crock Pot)

1 lb smoked sausage ( I used Armour Healthy Ones Smoked Sausage)
1 cup hickory flavored barbecue sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons brown sugar

Cut sausage in 1/2-inch pieces. Brown in skillet. Place in slow cooker.
Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over sausage.
Cover. Cook on Low 2 hours.
