Starbuck's Frozen Frappuccino

Monday, October 12, 2009

One of my favorite treats in the morning is a frozen frappuccino from Starbucks. They average over $4 a cup and is starting to get a little too expensive for my wallet. So I searched online for a similiar recipe and found this one. It is pretty tasty, but I do not think it tastes exactly like Starbucks. Maybe it would help if I would use Starbuck's brand coffee. I still enjoyed it as a frozen coffee drink and will be making it quite often. It actually made it's own white froth at the top so I didn't think it really needed whipped cream. Enjoy!

Starbuck's Frozen Frappuccino

Ingredients:
3/4 cup double-strength coffee, cold
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 cup fat free milk
2 cups ice
3 Tablespoons Sugar Free Caramel Syrup or
3 Tablespoons Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup

Directions
Make double-strength coffee by brewing with twice the coffee required by your coffee maker: That should be 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per each cup of coffee. Chill before using.
To make drink, combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until ice is crushed and drink is smooth. Pour into two 16-ounce glasses, and serve with a straw.
CARAMEL Version:
For this version, add 3 tablespoons of caramel topping to the original recipe and prepare as described. Top each glass with whipped cream and drizzle additional caramel over the whipped cream.
MOCHA Version:
For this version, add 3 tablespoons Hershey's chocolate syrup to the original recipe and prepare as described. Top each glass with whipped cream, if desired.

Servings: 2   Points: 2 per serving
