Sweet Potato Fries

Thursday, August 6, 2009

I had tried some sweet potato fries at a restaurant and I loved how they tasted. They were fried but these are baked so they are healthier. These didn't turn out as crispy as I would like and I didn't care for the garlic powder but overall they were still pretty good. Maybe frying them will make them crispier? I did bake them for an additional 10 minutes (total of 30 minutes). I loved the cinnamon on the fries.

Sweet Potato Fries

Ingredients:
olive oil, to coat
6 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into steak fries
2 teaspoons salt
garlic powder
cinnamon

Directions:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Put cut fries into large ziploc bag with olive oil, put in salt, garlic and cinnamon and shake to coat. Place fries onto baking sheet leaving space between fries.
Put in oven for 10 minutes and then flip them over.
Place back in for 10 more minutes.
They should be soft on the inside and browned on the outside.
Let cool for 5 minutes.
